Ondrej Hamuľák

I serve as a senior researcher and lecturer in the EU law at Faculty of Law, Palacký University Olomouc (Czech Republic) and Adjunct professor in strategic EU legal affairs at Taltech Law School (Estonia). Since 2020 I am also a founding member of Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence focusing on enforcement of rule of law in the EU at Faculty of Law, Comenius University in Bratislava (Slovakia). My priority domain of interest is EU constitutional law. In my research I specialise on the relations and interactions between EU law and national law, the theoretical impacts of the membership in the EU on the state sovereignty, the legitimacy and rule of law within the EU and protection of fundamental rights within the supranational system of law. I have participated and currently implement 10+ research projects (most currently project focusing of forming of digital sovereignty of the EU). I am the author or co-author of up to 100 scholarly works with over 500 citations globally (75 in Scopus). My Scopus H-index is 5, Google Scholar H-Index is 13.

Besides research, I am deeply interested and actively involved in managing and evaluating of research activities and academic self-governance. Since 2020 I serve as a vice-dean for science and research at Faculty of Law, Palacký University Olomouc. I am a co-founder and member of organisational and scientific board (2007-2012) of the international legal conference: Young Lawyers Debates in Olomouc  (with 3 proceedings indexed at Web of Science). In 2012 and 2013 I served as elected member of the Academic Senate at the Faculty of Law, Palacký University Olomouc. Between 2013 and 2017 I was a member of the Czech Council of the Higher Education Institutions. Between 2014 and 2017 I served as a member of the expert panel for evaluation of the scientific outcomes at the Research and Development Council of the Government of the Czech Republic. Between 2017 and 2021 I served as a member of expert panel of the Czech Science Foundations (field law and political science).
