Michał Ziółkowski

Michał Ziółkowski Michał Ziółkowski is assistant professor at Kozminski University in Warsaw, and Max Weber Fellow in Law at the European University in Florence (2019-2021), interested in nexus of constitutional transformations, EU constitutionalism, and judicial review. His research explores unconstitutional constitutional amendments, constitutional identity, constitutional crises and roles of constitutional courts. As a Max Weber Fellow at the EUI, he worked on the different aspects of the rule of law crisis in the EU and constitutional identity in Poland.

Michał Ziółkowski graduated from Warsaw University with a degree in law (2009) and completed his PhD at the Institute of Law Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences (2017). He also served as a judge's legal assistant at the Office of the Constitutional Tribunal of Poland (2008–2016). He is the managing editor of Państwo i Prawo, one of the oldest law journals in Poland.

Michał Ziółkowski was a member of the several research groups, including the following projects financed by the National Science Center in Poland: Constitutional and national identity of the EU Member State (2014– 2018); Constitutional intertemporal law (2014– 2018).
