Jacek Karakulski

Jacek Karakulski graduated in law at the Jagiellonian University. He is a PhD Student in the field of legal sciences. At the Department of Constitutional Law he is preparing a doctoral dissertation on the on impact of anti-terrorism legislation on the right to privacy of an individual. He is a winner of the 7th edition of the competition under the “Diamentowy Grant” program. Scholarship holder of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education scholarship for significant scientific achievements. Member of the winning team in the 3rd Constitutional Court Tournament organized by the Prof. Zbigniew Hołda Association. Author or co-author of over fifteen scientific publications and an active participant in several national and international scientific conferences. 

He is a fellow in the research project "Protection of human rights in emergency. Theory and practice of the Visegrad Group countries” (OPUS 19) headed by Prof. Monika Florczak-Wątor. He also conducts research under the mini-grant "(A)political character of violations in the judicial appointment procedure and social confidence in the justice – Polish and Icelandic problems with the independent judiciary." He collaborated in the research project "Specificity of the law-making activity of constitutional court and its limits" (SONATA BIS 5). He completed a foreign scientific internship in France. 

Jacek Karakulski is undergoing judicial training at the National School of Judiciary and Public Prosecution.
